4. Consider Downsizing — or Right-Sizing

For many people, the house that once fit a whole family now feels a little too big. Maybe it’s the upkeep, maybe it’s the cost, or maybe it’s just too many stairs. Either way, downsizing can be a powerful financial and emotional move.

Selling your home and moving into a smaller space can free up cash, lower your bills, and reduce the stress that comes with constant maintenance. And if you’re not ready to move far, consider “right-sizing” — staying in your community but choosing a home that truly fits your current lifestyle.

Freedom isn’t always about having more. Sometimes it’s about having exactly enough.
