2. Travel at Off-Peak Times
It’s not just the day that matters — it’s also the time of day. Early morning departures or late-night “red-eye” flights tend to cost less than the prime 9am–6pm slots.
Yes, it might mean a little inconvenience or extra coffee, but the savings are worth it. Plus, red-eyes often give you an extra full day at your destination.
3. Use Flight Search Engines
Don’t limit yourself to one airline’s website. Tools like Google Flights, Skyscanner, and Momondo scan hundreds of airlines and show you the cheapest combinations. They also let you compare entire months at a glance so you can see the cheapest days to fly.
One of my favorite tricks is using Google Flights’ “Explore” feature — type in your departure city and see where in the world you can go for the lowest fare.
