5 Side Hustles You Can Start Today With $0

November 17, 2025 · 7 min read

2. Print-on-Demand (Designs Without Inventory)

What It Is
Print-on-demand (POD) lets you create digital designs (say, quotes, graphics, illustrations) and sell them printed on things like T-shirts, mugs, or phone cases. But you don’t buy or hold any stock — when someone orders, the POD company prints and ships it.

Why It Costs $0 to Start
You don’t pay for inventory. Use free design tools like Canva to make your designs, then upload them to POD platforms like Redbubble, TeeSpring, or Printify.

How to Get Started

  1. Set up a free account on a POD platform.

  2. Design for free using Canva or similar tools. Focus on simple text-based or trendy designs — these often perform well.

  3. Upload your designs, write good titles and tags, so people can find them.

  4. Promote your listings. Use social media, or even free blogs or communities to drive traffic.

Earnings Potential
You earn a commission per sale, usually between $5–$20 or more depending on the product and markup.

Pros & Challenges

  • Pros: Passive once set up, no inventory risk, creative freedom.

  • Challenges: It can take time to make your first sale, and competition can be stiff.
