Proposed by Senator Josh Hawley, with support from former President Trump, this act would use revenue from new tariffs to fund rebate checks for working families.

How It Would Work: Issued as refundable tax credits (so even if you don’t owe taxes, you’d get the money).
But here’s the catch: this proposal hasn’t passed. It’s a political talking point right now, and while it could gain traction, it’s not something you can expect to see in your account tomorrow. Think of it as “possible in the future, not real today.”
