This Popular Money Advice Is Dead in 2025 — Here’s What Actually Works

November 19, 2025 · 6 min read

6. “Cryptocurrency will make you rich — you’re late if you’re not in.”

On the opposite side of the spectrum… we have hype-based advice.

The idea that crypto is a guaranteed ticket to wealth is one of the most misleading financial narratives.

Crypto is volatile, unregulated in many regions, and often dominated by speculation. Yes, there’s potential — but also huge risk.

The reality:
Crypto can be part of your portfolio, but only:

  • if you understand the risks,

  • if it’s a small allocation,

  • and if it’s not money you need soon.

No investment is guaranteed — especially not crypto.
