3. Make Soup from Leftover Rice
That cold container of rice from last night’s takeout or homemade dinner doesn’t have to go to waste. Rice is an excellent base for a hearty soup. Just simmer it in chicken or vegetable broth, toss in leftover veggies or meat, and season with herbs.
Even better: add a splash of soy sauce and some frozen peas for a quick “fried rice soup” twist. It’s comforting, filling, and a great way to clean out the fridge.
4. Build a Grain Bowl
Grain bowls are all the rage in restaurants, but you can make them at home for a fraction of the cost. If you’ve got leftover rice, quinoa, or couscous, top it with last night’s vegetables, beans, or protein. Add a fried egg on top and drizzle with dressing or olive oil.
The beauty of grain bowls is that there are no rules. You can mix and match whatever you’ve got until it looks colorful and tastes satisfying.
