3. Fill Up Before You Clock Out
Before you leave work, fill your water bottle. It’s such a small thing, but it keeps you hydrated and cuts a little off your home water bill.
Not every savings tip has to be dramatic. Sometimes, it’s about tiny shifts of habit.
Same goes for free coffee refills, tea, or even the office printer — responsibly, of course.
4. Use Less Laundry Detergent
Here’s an inside secret: those “fill to here” lines on detergent cups are pure marketing.
Most loads need half that much detergent, especially if your washer is high-efficiency (HE). Using too much can actually make clothes grimy or stiff, and wears them out faster.
American Pockets tip: Use a measuring spoon — 1–2 tablespoons max.
Less soap, cleaner clothes, longer-lasting fabrics. It’s like minimalism, but for laundry.
